Reneuvo was founded in 1992 by
Dennis Sleister. Mr. Sleister has developed high technology
surgical and medical products for more than thirty years. He
founded Surgilase Inc in 1984 to introduce medium and high power sealed
carbon dioxide lasers based on military aerospace technology that made
them both better and more reliable than other systems that used old
fashioned technology. The Surgilase 150XJ became the premier laser
for skin resurfacing which is still regarded by leading dermatologists
as the gold standard for skin rejuvenation.
Mr. Sleister founded
Reneuvo's parent company shortly after selling Surgilase. After
several years away from lasers, he decided to develop a range of
phototherapy products based on the most appropriate, non-invasive light
source. The initial products use LEDs because of their long life, reliability
and safety. He anticipates that most of these products will
be designed for personal use in order to provide individuals with the
benefits of the technology at their convenience and for much less money.
As a leading edge
baby boomer, Mr. Sleister believes that there are many opportunities to
use light by itself or with other products to meet the aesthetic needs
of his generation and the generation right behind it.
